BA (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing

The BA (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing (Top-up) degree programme is a level 6 qualification that aims to provide you, the student, with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be an effective practitioner in a variety of health and social care settings.

Successful completion of the programme will lead to the award of BA (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing from NCG.

When studying this course you will develop transferable, employability, organisational and  managerial skills such as;

  • Analysing and selecting information.
  • Communicating effectively.
  • Understanding and interpreting numerical data.
  • Problem solving.
  • Personal and Professional Development.

The BA (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing (Top-up) degree programme is a level 6 qualification. A 2:2 Honours level pass will allow you entry onto a range of related Postgraduate or Masters degree programmes, including Social Care, Wellbeing, Occupational Therapy and Health Professions such as:

  • PGCert Public Health
  • MSc in Public Health
  • PGCert Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies
  • MSc Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies

Alternatively you could apply for a Educational Diploma Teacher Training Course or a PGCE teacher training course. 

The health and social care sector covers a vast range of occupations and professions, the BA (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing programme is the ideal qualification to give you an awareness of the Health Care sector. A sample of career opportunities could be:

  • Adult Nurse.
  • Care Worker.
  • Management of Care Homes
  • Community Development Worker.
  • Counsellor.
  • Mental Health Practitioner Occupational Therapist.
  • Social Worker.
  • Youth Worker.

Alternatively, you could enter the workplace as a specialist behavioral support worker, a drug or alcohol counsellor or go into teaching.

Modules are delivered using a range of assessments to develop your skills both academically and within the workplace. An example of the modules you will study are:

  • Research Theory and Practice.
  • Developing Strategies for Health & Well-Being in the Community.
  • Health Policy, Politics and Power,
  • Taking Control: Leading, Managing and Caring in HSC
  • Dissertation

Within your academic year you will study five modules across two semesters. One module will require you to produce a written dissertation.

Entry Requirements

You must be over 18 years old and have either of the following:

BTEC Higher National Diploma in Health and Social Care 

A Foundation Degree in Health Care 

Level 5 qualification in a related area.

And you must have achieved 

GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Numeracy and Literacy qualifications at Level 2.

£9000 Per Year
